We believe that businesses like ours have the power to create a positive change in the world. Through every purchase of our products, we are empowering cheese and chicken farmers who are raising their animals in humanely and environmentally responsible ways; we are driving demand for packaging made from recycled, not virgin, material; we are putting healthy, wholesome, productive [and delicious] calories into our customers’ bodies; and so much more.

Our social and environmental commitments are at the core of what we do every day and are a foundation of every decision we make. In addition to incorporating our social and environmental commitment into our corporate bylaws, we are also in the process of becoming a certified Benefit Corporation. B Corps are certified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. To quote the B Corp declaration, we and our 950 [and growing] peer B Corps "envision a new sector of the economy which harnesses the power of private enterprise to create public benefit. This sector…is purpose-driven, and creates benefit for all stakeholders, not just shareholders."

Our path to certification, and from certification toward ongoing improvement, will be an ever-evolving process. We don’t have all the answers, and we certainly can’t make the change we seek alone.
