GMOs

You don't have to look far these days to see headlines about the GMO debate. It's a topic of conversation on a regular basis here in our office, and we think it is important for you to know where we stand on the issue.

What is a GMO? GMO is short for Genetically Modified Organism. Many ingredients and products in the grocery store– plants, animals alike, have had specific edits made to their DNA by laboratories. Regardless of where you stand on the issue, there are hot arguments on both sides, and there is no doubt that we will hear much more of it in the coming years.

We think there is something powerful in the idea of eating simply.

For us, we are on a mission to source the cleanest, most honest ingredients we can get our hands on. To achieve this we have logged countless hours searching for the best ingredient sources on the planet. We can promise you this:

• All of our vegetables, oils and grains are non-GMO.
• Our beef is 100% grass fed and finished, and is therefore non-GMO.
• All of our chicken, pork, eggs, and cheese come from animals that are non-GMO (but we should note that the food they eat can come from GMO grains (corn, soy, etc)).
• We are actively working toward using 100% certified non-GMO sources for all of our animal products.

Buen Sabor is a proud member of the Non-GMO Project, the gold standard in non-GMO verification. Our goal is to eventually certify ALL of our products with the Non-GMO Project, but the process takes time. We appreciate your patience while we work our tails off to make that happen!
